I got the opportunity to illustrate the editor page of the Happy Newspaper. It was really fun to get to work with them, I had the freedom to be creative around the concept of happiness and this beautifull sentence. “Our hapinnes is as uniques as each one of us”
This was the process.
1. I got the brief (Normally would be the text plus any idea that the client would have in mind)
2. I made my own moodboard, collect references and search the concept of happiness.
3. I made a skecth and usually the clients change something in this phase.
4. I made a color test in digital: It’s a lot of work but saves so much time when I am applying the real color.
5. Print the skech and trace it with a light box in a Bristol paper.
6. Make the final with gouache and colored pencil.
7. Scan it using an Epson perfection.
8. Retouch on photoshop.
9. Final.
